Joe Rinaldo Heffernan AKA Jealous Orgasm is an artist, singer/songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Northwest Arkansas. He has performed his solo work and collaborated with other artists including Juliana Huxtable, Ahya Simone and Raul De Nieves (to name a few) in prestigious venues all over the world, including the MoMA (NY), Performance Space (NY), Rubin Museum (NY), 47 Canal (NY), Artists Space (NY), The Armory (NY), Fundação Serralves (Porto), Arika Episode 8, Refuse Powers Grasp (Glasgow), and many more. He also regularly performs at music festivals and nightclubs, including Roskilde Festival (Denmark), Rewire (The Hague), Spectrum (NY), Shock Value (NY) and Primavera Sound (Spain), only to name a few. Heffernan is part of the 3 piece experimental music project “Tongue in the Mind”, along with Dylan Shir aka Via App and Juliana Huxtable. This year TITM released their first single “Pretty Canary” along with a video Directed by Heinrecke Schnieder. The single is released on Pan records (Berlin). In November of this year the TITM EP will be released.
Heffernan has also composed original scores for film and commercials; clients include Lululemon. He is a classically trained composer of chamber and orchestral music. He also toured as the drummer for the band Paris Suit Yourself, under the London based record label Big Dada/Ninja Tune. His first solo EP is featured on Hoss Records, NYC. In 2019, Heffernan was a Jerome Foundation recipient during his residency at Performance Space New York. He has performed his own piano compositions extensively around the world. Regardless of the training he has received, its the raw emotion and physical skill that propels him into performance and pushing the energy for the audience large or small.
